Importing and Exporting

This article discusses importing and exporting Global Settings and Breakdance settings from one Breakdance website to another. Importing and exporting Global Settings can be done from the Settings Panel within Breakdance. Additionally, you can import Breakdance Settings, including Global Settings, Custom Fonts, and more, from the WP Admin Dashboard.

Importing and Exporting Global Settings from the Settings Panel

Using the following steps, you can import and export Global Settings while working in Breakdance. Please note this will only import or export your Global Settings:

  1. Open Breakdance on the Source Site.
  2. Click the Settings Menu in Breakdance and click on “Global Settings.”
  3. On the top-right of the Global Settings panel, click the “…” icon.
  4. Select the “Export Global Settings” option and follow the prompts to download the JSON file.
  5. Open Breakdance on the Destination Site and repeat steps 2 and 3.
  6. Select the “Import Global Settings” option and drag the JSON file into the modal, or click the import area to select the JSON file.
  7. Click the “Import” button, and the Global Settings from the Source site should now be on the Destination site.

Importing and Exporting Breakdance Settings

Importing and Exporting Breakdance settings from the WP Admin Dashboard will impact more than just Global Settings on your site. This will import or export Global Settings, Design Presets, Custom Fonts, Custom Selectors, and API Keys.

  1. Navigate to Breakdance > Settings > Tools in the WP Admin Dashboard on the Source site.
  2. Click the “Download Export File” button under the “Export Settings” option to export the current settings from the Source site and save the JSON file to your computer.
  3. Navigate to Breakdance > Settings > Tools in the WP Admin Dashboard on the Destination site.
  4. Click the “Choose File” button in the “Import Settings” option and select the JSON file you’ve downloaded from the Source site.
  5. Click the “Upload Export JSON File” button for the “Import Settings” option.
  6. The Destination site should now have all the settings of the Source site.
