Initial Setup for ActiveCampaign Integration

Creating an ActiveCampaign API Key and URL

  1. In your ActiveCampaign account, go to Settings > Developer.
  2. Copy the API Key and API URL provided.

Adding Your ActiveCampaign API Credentials

  1. On your website, go to Breakdance > Settings in your WordPress admin panel.
  2. Navigate to the API Keys settings.
  3. Paste your credentials into the following fields:
    • ActiveCampaign – API Key
    • ActiveCampaign – API URL
  4.  Click Save Changes.

Configuring ActiveCampaign in The Form Builder

Selecting ActiveCampaign in the Actions Section

  1. Select your Form Builder in the builder preview.
  2. In the properties panel on the left side, expand the Actions area.
  3. From the ‘Actions After Submission’ dropdown, select ‘ActiveCampaign’.

Customizing ActiveCampaign Settings

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the ActiveCampaign action to open the ActiveCampaign settings.
  2. Under Use ActiveCampaign API Key, choose between:
    • Default – uses the API Key and URL from Breakdance > Settings > API Keys
    • Custom – allows you to enter different credentials specific to this form
  3.  Select the Account, if applicable, and then choose the appropriate List to which new contacts should be added.
  4. (Optional) Assign one or more Tags to the contact upon submission.
  5. Expand the Field Mapping section. Under Custom Fields, map each Form Field to the correct ActiveCampaign Field:
    • Example: Email → Email
    • Add multiple field mappings by clicking Add Item
  6.  When finished, close the panel and save your form settings.

Testing the Integration

After setting up the integration, it’s important to test it:

  1. Make a submission through your form.
  2. Check your ActiveCampaign account to verify the new entry is recorded correctly.
