Creating Popups in Breakdance

Popups are small windows that appear on top of website content. They serve a variety of functions on websites, from gathering email subscriptions to announcing limited-time offers. They are often creatively employed for navigation menus and various other interactive features that enhance user experience and website usability.

Breakdance includes powerful popup creation functionality. To create popups with Breakdance, from your WordPress admin panel, navigate to Breakdance > Popups. This section of Breakdance allows you to design, configure, and deploy popups right within your WordPress site, offering a user-friendly interface for both beginners and seasoned web developers.

Getting Started

To begin, access the Breakdance popup feature through your WordPress admin panel. Navigate to Breakdance > Popups in your WordPress admin panel. Here’s a step-by-step process to create your first popup.

Step 1: Add a New Popup

1. Click on Add Popup.
2. Enter a name for your popup, like “Email Subscribe”.

Step 2: Choose Popup Location and Conditions

1. Select the location where your popup should appear (e.g., Everywhere, Pages, Products).
2. For more precision, add conditions. For instance, if you want the popup to only display on your homepage, choose “Page is Home Page”.
3. You can stack multiple conditions, using AND/OR logic, to refine when the popup appears.

Step 3: Setup Triggers

1. Click Add Trigger to decide what action will open your popup.
2. Choose from various triggers like On Page Load, Page Scroll, User Inactivity, etc.

Step 4: Designing the Popup

1. Click Edit in Breakdance to start designing your popup.
2. Add elements to your popup, just like you would when designing anything else in Breakdance.
3. Place an image in the right column and a form builder in the left.

Step 5: Testing

Finally, test your popup on the front end of your website. Ensure it appears when expected, based on the location, condition, and triggers you created earlier.
