Initial Setup for MailChimp Integration
Adding Your MailChimp API Key
- Go to Breakdance.com settings in your WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to the API keys area.
- Ensure that your MailChimp API key is entered here.
- To get your API key, log into your MailChimp account, edit your profile, and under ‘Extras’, find the ‘API keys’ section.
- Create a key (label it for easy identification), copy it, and click ‘Done’.
- Return to Breakdance’s API key settings and paste your copied key.
- Save your changes to confirm the integration.
Configuring MailChimp in The Form Builder
Selecting MailChimp in the Actions Section
- Select your form builder in the builder preview.
- In the properties panel on the left side, expand the actions area.
- From the ‘Actions After Submission’ dropdown, select ‘MailChimp’.
Customizing MailChimp Settings
- Click the pencil icon next to the MailChimp action to open the MailChimp settings.
- Choose your audience from the available options.
- Decide whether to turn on or off the double opt-in feature (off by default).
- Expand the field mapping area and ensure correct mapping of form fields to MailChimp fields.
- Configure additional audience group options, if you have categories and groups in your MailChimp account.
Testing the Integration
After setting up the integration, it’s important to test it:
- Make a submission through your form.
- Check your MailChimp account to verify the new entry is recorded correctly.
