Click

Click opens a popup when a visitor clicks anywhere on the page or an element matching a CSS selector.

Add the Click Trigger

  1. Go to Breakdance > Popups and open the popup’s Settings.
  2. Under Popup Opens When, click Add Trigger and set Trigger on to Click.
  3. Choose Click target: Anywhere for any page click, or Selector for specific elements. For Selector, enter a CSS selector such as .open-newsletter.
  4. Click Save.

Choose Which Clicks Open the Popup

Anywhere attempts to open the popup on the first page click. Selector responds to matching elements and their nested content. Assign an ID or class through the element’s Settings > Advanced, then use # for an ID or . for a class in Selector.

Selector clicks can reopen the popup after it closes, subject to display limits. A matching click prevents the element’s normal link navigation.

A direct Popup Open link action needs no Click trigger and bypasses display limits.

The popup’s location, conditions, and display limits must allow it to open. See Popup Triggers for shared trigger behavior.
