Dynamic Field Values

Dynamic Data supplies a field's initial value from post data, custom fields, or URL parameters. Actions receive the submitted value, which may differ from that initial value.

Bind a Value

  1. Open a compatible field, such as Text or Hidden, under Form > Fields in the Content tab.
  2. Click Dynamic Data beside Advanced > Value, select a source such as Post Title, and configure its options.
  3. Save and view the form in its actual page/template context.

Text is editable; Hidden submits without a visible input. Hidden values remain visitor-modifiable and cannot be trusted for authorization or pricing.

URL Parameters

Choose URL Parameter and set Parameter Name to topic. Opening https://example.com/contact/?topic=Installation prefills “Installation”. Names must match; field IDs do not automatically bind URL parameters. Use ? for the first parameter, & between others, and URL-encode values.

Use the Submitted Value

Set a stable Advanced > ID, such as topic, and use {topic} in actions supporting field variables. Choices use option-level Selected instead of Value. Date fields also support dynamic Min Date and Max Date.

For blank previews, check actual post/URL context. Repeated values across different URLs can indicate caching that ignores query strings.
