File Uploads

File Upload fields accept attachments. Uploading, retaining, and emailing files are separate settings.

Add an Upload Field

From the Content tab, open Form > Fields, then click Add Field and select File Upload. Set Label, Max. File Size (MB), Max. Number of Files, Allowed File Types, and optional Drag and Drop. Advanced contains ID, required status, width, conditions, and label visibility.

Unset limits default to one file and 10 MB per file. WordPress/server limits may be lower. Allowed types come from WordPress MIME settings; see Registering Additional Form File Types to add types.

Retain or Email Files

Select Store Submission under Actions > Actions After Submission in the Content tab, then enable Store uploaded files. Optionally enable Add uploaded files to WordPress media library. Retrieve entries under Breakdance > Form Submissions; media-library files are not inherently private.

For email attachments, open Actions > Email > Emails from the Content tab and enable Attach uploaded files on each intended email. This does not enable retention. Mail-service attachment limits also apply.

Style the Upload

From the Design tab, open Form > Fields > Advanced > File Input. Button styles the chooser. Drag & Drop styles the drop area, Active state, and Files List. See Form Styles.
