Plugin and Theme Conflict Testing

A conflict test identifies whether another plugin or your theme causes a problem with Breakdance. Unrelated WordPress plugins can affect each other, so this is usually the first check when the cause is unknown.

Disable Other Plugins and Your Theme

Use a staging copy where possible. Reproduce the issue there before changing plugins or the theme.

  1. Open Plugins in WordPress. Select every active plugin except Breakdance and any plugins required to reproduce the problem.
  2. Choose Deactivate from Bulk Actions, then click Apply.
  3. If you use a theme with Breakdance, open Breakdance > Settings > Theme, choose Disable Theme, and save.
  4. Repeat the action that caused the problem.

If the problem no longer occurs, a plugin or theme conflict is involved. Continue below to identify it.

Identify the Conflict

  1. Re-enable your theme under Breakdance > Settings > Theme and repeat the test. If the problem returns, the theme is causing the conflict.
  2. If the problem does not return, reactivate the previously active plugins one at a time. Repeat the test after each activation.
  3. When the problem returns, the most recently activated plugin is causing the conflict.

Report the Results

Replacing the conflicting plugin or theme is usually the fastest solution. If it is essential to your site, send your findings and any additional details to both Breakdance Support and the other product's support team.

If the issue persists with other plugins and the theme disabled, it may be a Breakdance bug. Contact support with the results so we can investigate.
