Opening and Closing Popups with Links
A Popup link action opens, closes, or toggles a selected popup.
Configure a Link
- Create the popup under Breakdance > Popups. Leave Popup Opens When empty for manual-only opening.
- Select a button/link, open its Link settings with , and choose Type > Action > Popup.
- Select Popup, set Action, and save. Test on the front end; actions do not run in the builder.
The reference includes the popup on this page even outside its automatic location, without adding automatic triggers. No separate Click trigger is needed.

Custom Close Button
Add a Button or Text Link inside the popup and configure the same action with Action > Close. It works independently of the built-in button, which Content > Popup > Disable Close Button hides.

Actions
| Action | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Open | Opens if closed; bypasses display limits and other-popup restrictions. |
| Close | Closes if open. |
| Toggle | Switches state; opening respects display limits and other-popup restrictions. |
Actions cannot change state during entrance/exit animation. Always check Popup selection; a button can target a different popup from its container.

Anchor Links
# and same-page anchor links close the popup by default. Enable Content > Popup > Advanced > Keep Open On Hashlink Clicks to prevent this; explicit Close actions still work.

Turning off Active stops automatic selection only. Remove explicit link/form references when retiring a manually opened popup.
