Earlier and Retired Elements

Older local elements may still render while hidden from Add. A retired external service can stop rendering even though its controls remain.

Replacements

Element Current guidance
Image V1 Retained for existing pages and hidden from Add; use the current Image for new content
Fundamental SVG Icon V1 Earlier SVG-icon registration hidden from Add; use the current Fundamental SVG Icon when working with Fundamentals
Product Images Existing gallery reference retained; the current new-gallery workflow uses Swiper with Product Gallery data
Facebook Like Button The external Like plugin was retired by Meta; use an appropriate share action or profile link
Facebook Comments The external Comments plugin was retired by Meta; use the site's comment system or another supported discussion workflow

Meta retired the external Like and Comments plugins on February 10, 2026. Retirement notice.

Replace an Element

  1. Select it in Structure and record its content, styling, and behavior.
  2. Build the replacement through its current controls; similarly named elements can use different properties.
  3. Compare the result, then remove the old instance. Update IDs, selectors, conditions, and interaction targets that referenced it.

Keep a recoverable copy until the replacement works. Existing instances can remain editable despite being hidden from Add; changing dimensions or colors cannot restore a retired external service.
