Hosting Requirements

Check the requirements of WordPress, your Breakdance release, and additional plugins before changing hosts or PHP.

Published Requirements

As checked September 13, 2026:

• WordPress recommends PHP 8.3+, MariaDB 10.11+ or MySQL 8.0+, and HTTPS.
• Breakdance's compatibility page supports PHP 8.3 without claiming full 8.4/8.5 support.
• Server recommendations list mbstring, curl, zip, dual-core CPU, and 512 MB server RAM as a starting point. RAM differs from PHP memory_limit.

Historical PHP minimums—7.4 for Breakdance and 8.1 for the separate AI plugin—are not current lifecycle recommendations or Agent Connector requirements. Recheck each installed version.

Inspect the Environment

Open Tools > Site Health > Info for PHP, database, and server details. Test upgrades on a backed-up copy, including editor load/save and required integrations.
