Migrate Legacy Selectors

Starting with Breakdance 3.0, selectors created in Breakdance 2.x remain in the legacy selector system until you convert them to the new format. They continue to work, and Breakdance does not convert them automatically.

Convert them when you want to manage those selector definitions in the new Selectors panel.

Before converting

Save your current work and make a backup before converting selectors on a production site.

Convert legacy selectors

1. Click the three-dot menu in the builder’s top bar.
2. Choose Legacy Selectors.
3. Click Convert to New Format.

The Legacy Selectors menu item only appears while the site contains selectors in the legacy format.

Breakdance converts the legacy definitions, opens the new Selectors panel, and places the converted selectors in the Default collection. It also removes those definitions from the legacy store so both systems do not output the same styles.

What is converted

The converter carries over:

• Class and custom selector names.
• Supported style properties.
• Supported responsive values at the site’s registered breakpoints.

The converter maps legacy properties into the structure used by the new style controls. It does not rebuild pages or replace their elements. Class names already applied to elements remain in place, so the converted class selectors continue to match them.

Review and save the result

After conversion:

1. Review the converted selectors in the Selectors panel.
2. Check important pages at every registered breakpoint.
3. Pay particular attention to selectors that use complex combinations of legacy properties.
4. Save the builder when you are satisfied with the result.
